EMOS PEHA organizes in Greece a training week in order to learn research skills in Archaeology

Greece, or else called Hellas, is the cradle of European culture. It is a great attraction for professional archeologists, historians, and philosophers but also for all those who love science and culture. The mission of EMOS PEHA is to highlight and promote the Hellenic cultural heritage. Therefore, Emos Peha created the first experiential training for those interested to develop their skills in Archaeological research. The program takes place at the Peloponnese peninsula, lasts for a week, and includes the following:

Day 1

• Arrival & Pick up from Athens Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos” and departure for Peloponnese (southern Greece).
• Visit the archeological site of Ancient Corinth and stop for a lunch break.
• Settle and rest at the hotel of Kyparissia.
• Meeting and Dinner with the group’s members.

Day 2

• 09:00 - 12:00 Introduction to theory and research methodology of archaeology.
• Lunch break.
• 15:00 - 17:00 Internship (visit of ‘Vounaki’ site and practice of methodology).
• Dinner.

Day 3

• 8:30 Departure for the archaeological site of ancient Figalia and practical training - Walk on the river Neda.
• Lunch break.
• 16:00 - 18:00 Rest at the hotel.
• 18:00 - 20:00 Theoretical Course of Methodology.
• Dinner.

Day 4

• 9:00 - 14:00 Assignments and Internship in the Field (‘Vounaki’ site).
• Lunch break.
• 17:30 - 20:00 Theory and Discussion.
• Dinner.

Day 5

• Visit the archeological site of Ancient Olympia and practicing in the field.
• Lunch break.
• Free afternoon in Kyparissia.
• Dinner.

Day 6

• Visit the archeological site of Peristeria and practice in the field.
• Lunch break.
• 18:00 - 20:00 Review of the day and discussion.

Day 7

• 9:00 Departure for Athens.
• Stop and visit the archaeological site of Ancient Pellana.
• Lunch break.

Participation fee: 1000 euros (all-inclusive: meals, transportation, tickets to archeological sites, overnight stays, accommodation, etc).
